ug to dxf conversion

ug to dxf conversion

(OP)
Hi
I'm working in UGNX2. I've made drawing which has 5 views. Our customer needs output in autocad drawings. So I need to convert these drawings to dxf or dwg files. When I try to convert, I get autocad drawing with views in the drawing. In fact I need to "flatten" the drawing i.e. I don't need the 3d views in drawing in autocad.
In my opinion there are three ways:
1. Convert UG drawing to cgm, import cgm to Ug and then export it to dxf.
But it is not convenient to work in autocad with this method.
2. Export ug to iges. Iges flattens the drawing. Then import igs back to UG. Then export it to dxf.
I observed there is loss of data.
3. UG has utility "2d exchange". This flattens 3d UG part into 2d.But I don't have license for this.

I'll be grateful if anybody can help me.

RE: ug to dxf conversion

I use 2D EXCHANGE  and it works great, you might want to try to buy the license. But if you only needed to export one  planar view (top) of a part such as flat plate with thru holes you can use DXF/DWG export.
