Multi Cycle Analysis
Multi Cycle Analysis
(OP)
During a recent meeting, a consultant mentioned "Multi Cycle Analysis" as a time study method. Does anyone use or know where I can find information on this method?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks!

RE: Multi Cycle Analysis
Or from the sound of it, it might be an time study run multiple times with all variables independent (setup, operator, materials etc). Last thought would be a full workflow analysis of all activity related to the product.

RE: Multi Cycle Analysis
For instance were you to study the flow a box placed on a 400 foot conveyor belt that required the employee to both load and unload you could see part of the job but not all of it unless you followed the employee,so the Multi Cycle Analysis allows you to time just the element of placing the box on the belt, after accumulating multi cycle times for that element then you move to the next element or part of the job etc etc.The 1956 edition of Maynards book on Time and Motion study has a chapter dedicated just to this method of time study.Hope this helps.
