Hole chamfer

Hole chamfer

Hole chamfer

(OP)
I have a .065 diameter hole going through a thickness of .25.  I need to feed wires through this hole, so I was going to call out a chamfer, but how machinable is it to chamfer such a small hole?  I could put an edge break note if it is not feasable to call out a chamfer.

RE: Hole chamfer

I don't think chamfering small holes is a problem with CNC machines. They can use a cutter that has a chamfer cut into it and do it all in one operation, or they can come back and kiss it with a 90° chamfer tool. CNC makes life so much simpler and accurate :)

RE: Hole chamfer

JJAmtb,

Consider specifying a 120 degree chamfer with a tolerance of plus/minus ten degrees.  This allows the fabricator to chamfer it with a slightly larger drill.  It does not sound like you need accuracy.
