Heat Exchanger with glass tubes

Heat Exchanger with glass tubes

Heat Exchanger with glass tubes

(OP)
Does anyone know where I can buy a heat exchanger constructed with glass tubes?

RE: Heat Exchanger with glass tubes

This is a bit of a complicated way to have the information you are looking for. There is a site called google where you simply enter "heat exchanger glass tubes" and get everything you need in a millisecond.

RE: Heat Exchanger with glass tubes

Could you use a heat pipe instead? Google up "heat pipe" for more information.

RE: Heat Exchanger with glass tubes

You can check some applications in Medical  factories where they might use such type of HEs.!!

Cheers

RE: Heat Exchanger with glass tubes

What type HE are you looking for?
I've see one, a recuperator in a brewery.  I have seen adds for big air/air glass tubes HE’s for heat recovery units on air conditioning units.

We used several in our pilot plant but they were concentric glass tubes made in varying lengths

RE: Heat Exchanger with glass tubes

www.Graham-mfg.com has a test/demo lab with several glass components.  If you can get through to someone in the lab, they can tell you where the getting place is for glass Hx's.

RE: Heat Exchanger with glass tubes

To Techsupport1,

If you need to see the fluids inside the tubes, then glass tubes are probably the only acceptable material.  Check with O-I /SCHOTT Process Systems, or CORNING Glass.

If you need corrosion resistance / minimal contamination for high purity, then a ceramic tube or a porcelain lined steel heat exchanger might be acceptable.  There is a silicon carbide tube exchanger design available from www.dr-schnabel.com that would be stronger than a glass tubed unit.
