at my company we are going to leave v4 for v5. may be i won't have a chance for a training course and i'm looking for some training books, tutorials or texts with exercises step by step. can you suggest someone? do cd rom exist with this kind of exercises? which is the best way to learn v5? i really do not like it ! v4 was best one.

RE: tutorials or training books
First of all, V5 is not at all like V4, but when you get to work with it, the advantages of V5 will be huge.
I personally would prefer a catia course by a dealer you have thrust to, because there is so many different approaches and methodologies. But if you would like to do “self study”, there is a nice product called companion to catia V5 it will do the job(is not so expensive as a lot of other DS products!!).

You will like it, you'll see. Why nobody is checking the FAQ first?

RE: tutorials or training books
Moving from V4 to V5 is like using a completely new CAD system. It will require a significant amount of planning and training. Otherwise, it is just a waste of time and money.

RE: tutorials or training books
These manuals were assigned to me by Matra DataDivision.
I have the following:
Part Design (exercise and projects only)
Assembly Design
Surfacing Fundamentals
Advanced Surface Design Methodology
Generative Drafting
Like any CAD training class, these also had project files associated with the exercises. I do not have these.
This was very expensive training. I would be willing to part with the manuals, but not for free.
If anyone is interested, follow my signature file, and use the contact link on the webpage.
