Need air driven low rpm 12.5 ft.lb.limit nut driver, reversible

Need air driven low rpm 12.5 ft.lb.limit nut driver, reversible

I have an application that needs a nut driver.  The unit will be used in a contaminated hot cell.  The unit should drive approx. 2 RPS. Torque should be limitable to 12.5 ft.lbs.  Direction of rotation should be reversible.  Output should be smooth.  We tried an air driven ratchet wrench, which fit most requirements, but pulsations are too rough.  Air powered screwdrivers (assy.line units) fit most requirements but are still pulse drives, with air over oil and speeds too high.

Does anyone make an air tubine driven, metal gear box speed reduced, clutch limited, reversible, nut driver that would operate in the range above?  We would like to find something OTS that could be used, or could be modified to be used.

Atlas Copco makes drivers for production assembly tasks.  You might give them a look.

Does it have to be air driven?

MintJulep,
Up to now the balance of tools in the cell is going to be air driven.  If we switch to electric, that is going to be a major change.

TygerDawg,  thanks I will check out Atlas Copco.

ccw,
The DEPRAG tools that I have seen used for light assembly might fit or be adaptable to your application.  Google has cached an article from Thomasnet about a Deprag unit with very low torque level capability.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.  We have an Atlas Copco unit on order.  A little expensive. But, if it does the job, worth it.
