Time History Problem

Time History Problem

Time History Problem

(OP)
Hello all,

Im running a direct integration non-linear time history for a one story, steel frame building with sap vs 9.0.3 and noticed that I had the same displacement results when i used a plastic hinge with a value of say 100 ft-kips  and one with 50 ft-kips.

Now this error can be to many things but i tried to look at the time history of the hinges and they are all blank for both analysis.  In fact if i scale the ground motion to be 100 times stronger and then run the analyses  i get the exact same result:  no values displayed for the time history in the hinges.  This is really odd and is occurring in version 9.0.3.

I have an odd feeling that this version of SAP does not display time history values for hinges, so what I did was import a model from SAP version 8.2.3 and ran that in version 9.0.3 which I know for a fact has values in its hinge time histories when i run them un 8.2.3.  Low and Behold again no time history for this structure either with absolutely no changes.  Whats going on?  Is this a known bug in SAP 9.03?

Thanks in advance!

RE: Time History Problem

Seems we have a similar problem:

http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=139692&page=1

i don't know if is a Sap bug or a fault of me, but for the Z direction in my post i have the same result if i scale the time history by gravity acceleration or i do not (and is a 981 factor).
Can we work of this together? Two brains are better than one!

Do. Or do not.
There is no try...
