Pinch Analysis

Pinch Analysis

Pinch Analysis

(OP)
I am considering funding a pinch study in my chemical operations.  I've got a $300 million/year energy bill (steam, gas, coal, KWH, etc)Does anyone have experience with this?  What were the outcomes?  Did projects get installed as a result?

RE: Pinch Analysis

Just curious, but what is the lowest cost you are paying for energy (on a $/MMBtu or $/MWhr).  Is it the coal or the electricity?

RE: Pinch Analysis

(OP)
We are looking at coal, NG, and electricity.  About $10/MMBTU.

RE: Pinch Analysis

I'm looking at alternative processes to drop that fuel cost by maybe 40% (cost to the end user).  I assume you are also heavily using cogen/combined cycle
