Centaur Turbine flue gas uses

Centaur Turbine flue gas uses

(OP)
I was hoping to get a little feedback from anyone making use of the wonderfully hot and plentiful exhaust of a gas turbine.  It's located in my gas plant here in S. ALberta Canada, and is a Centaur Type H driving a gas compressor.  The exhaust is:
Heat Rate - 12,905 Kj./KW-Hr
Flow - 68,180 Kg/Hr.
Temp - 445 deg.C

It sure seems like a waste, so I'm starting to bounce some ideas around.  This unit runs 24/7 with the exception of maintenence and failures.

There are waste heat recovery systems available out there.  It is a matter of finding manufacturer's/suppliers.  You may want to do a web search.

RE: Centaur Turbine flue gas uses

In Canada, you get a benefit in terms of NOx requlations if you recover that thermal energy.  The most obvious ways to do that are to install a waste heat recovery unit.  But you need some place to use the steam.  You could install a small steam turbine (1/2 the size of the Solar unit), or you could just use it as building heating and cooling.  If you are anywhere near the oil-fields, you could generate steam and use for re-injection.

Let us know what you decide.

They make small once-through steam gnerators (OSTG) for this type application. I think they have a number of Canadian installations.
