An problem with Ansys program

(OP)
Hi

I'm new on the Ansys program,  so this could be an easy question.
Wenn i want to select something jou will get a menu. But i often don't get this menu and then after restarting the program everything works again.
Could anyone tell we what this problem is?

RE: An problem with Ansys program

Try to press the button to the right of the command line on the Ansys GUI.

Hope it helps!

RE: An problem with Ansys program

Hi,
mihaiupb's suggestion refers to the "rise hidden" command: it takes the focus back on the auxiliary menu windows (pick, select entities, mesh tool, etc...) after they have been "hidden" (i.e. put to background) by a click in the main window.
But I fear the problem described is another one: I've come accross this problem several times and never could completely explain it: sometimes the pick menu does NOT appear any more when you invoke it from a menu or even from the command line (e.g. with "NSEL,s,pick"); in this case, the only solution is to restart ANSYS.
It's probably a matter of compatibility with the graphical hardware (problem in my case seems to have disappeared after I changed graphical card to a FireGl T2), or perhaps also a GUI instability (I remember it was VERY annoying with v. 8.0, now with v. 9.0 I don't have this problem, and neither did I with previous v. 7.0 which used the "old" GUI layout).

Regards

RE: An problem with Ansys program

You have described a known bug in ANSYS.  If that happens, press CTRL-SHIFT-DEL at the same time.  This will reset the GUI - and you'll get a nice message from ANSYS saying "sorry".
