Wood Sill Plate to PT Slab Connection?
Wood Sill Plate to PT Slab Connection?
(OP)
Greetings all,
I have a question regarding the connection of wood sill plates to a post tensioned slab. I am working on an apartment building that is wood framed. The wood framing will be supported by a post tensioned slab over a parking garage. I will need to connect the shear, load bearing and other walls for an apartment building to the PT slab. What solutions/connections have been done in your experience? Is one connection better than another, easier to install? Should the anchor bolts be cast integral with the slab? Drilled after??? ( I keep seeing a tendon getting hit with this method ) I am looking for some suggestions. Thank you for the help!

RE: Wood Sill Plate to PT Slab Connection?
I agree that drilling a PT slab near its edge, where the tendons may be hit is a real concern...but you may know exactly where these are going to be positioned and drilling to a limited depth may be ok...

Continuous embedded plates are quite expensive.
