Is there a way to open an .exp file w/out using CATIA? If so which CAD program can I use to do this?

RE: Open an .exp file with...?

Hi,
You have to use the utilities program in catia V5
(Tools---> Utilities)
MigrateV4toV5

.exp files come frome catia V4 export.

Enjoy!

RE: Open an .exp file with...?

Well, since .exp is a Catia V4 sequential file, your best bet is to open it with....  CATIA!

However, if you need something done with it, and you don't have Catia, you have 2 options:

1) Search Google for a 3rd party translation software
2) Hire my firm to do data translation for you.

I, personally, like option 2 the best.  That is, of course, ONLY my professional opinion. :)

RE: Open an .exp file with...?

CAn you migrate the EXP file with migrate V4toV5 without changing the EXp file back to V4 format?  I have received an EXP file that Contained several V4 model files and before migrating to V5 I converted the EXP file back to V4.  Was that unnecessary to do?
