Bending plywood for skate ramp

Does anyone know how to bend a 4x8 sheet of 3/8-1/2 thick plywood to a 48" radius ? I dont want to buy the expensive special "Bendy board" This is for a skateboarders half pipe. Thanks for reading.

RE: Bending plywood for skate ramp

Use multiple layers of thin sheets.

You could try soaking the plywood in water for a day or two. No matter which thickness you choose, a typical plywood sheet will bend more readily across the grain of the surface plys than with the grain. Here is a link to the Engineered Wood Associations technical paper "Bending Plywood" (about a quarter of the way down the page)
