Sheet Metal CAM Package

Sheet Metal CAM Package

Sheet Metal CAM Package

(OP)
Hi again,

My company does a lot of sheet metal work and we have a plasma cutter and CNC punch. At the moment we need a dedicated programmer to set these machines up. We also require a flattened dwg output from SW and we must then assign the holes and cuts onto a specific layer for the current CAM software to recognise. The software we use is old and we are thinking of changing.

Does anyone have experience of linking a CAM software package to SW for sheet metal fabrication? If so, what sort of input does it require? How successful has it been at auto tooling and nesting? Would you recommend? Thanks.

Thanks Scott. There are a few different possibilities in terms of add ins for SW - I am wondering if anyone has opinions on which is best?
