Hypermesh: modeling honeycomb core in 3D

Hypermesh: modeling honeycomb core in 3D

(OP)
I have a side project, where I am supposed to model a surf board in 3D, which entails that I need to model the core in 3D also. Correct me if im wrong, but I dont think Hypermesh has the ability to do 3D orthotropic elements. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to model core in 3D using 2D elements? My initial thought was to create 2 sets parallel planes made of 2D elements, the first set of planes being perpendicular to the second set. This would give a 3 dimensional effect, but i wouldnt know what properties i should give the elements to have effective properties of honeycomb. Any comments appreciated.
