Inserting TIFF files into AutoCAD Lite

Inserting TIFF files into AutoCAD Lite

(OP)
I have tried to copy and paste a TIFF file into CADD; this does not produce the image on the TIFF file, just a box marked TIFF. Does anyone know an easy way to do this and what supporting programs do i need for this to work?

RE: Inserting TIFF files into AutoCAD Lite

AutoCAD doesn't like .tiff or .jpeg files - even though they are pickable options when creating an OLE object.  You can open that .tiff file using Microsoft Picture & Fax Viewer, and then save it as a .bmp file.  The .bmp file will work just fine as a OLE object into AutoCAD.
