Problems animating flow of parts along curved path

Problems animating flow of parts along curved path

(OP)
Hi
Trying to pull a chain of mated parts along a curved path thereby simulating flow of particles along a complicated conveyor path.

Chain is similar to a tank tread assembly, flexible in direction normal to path.  Curved path is an extruded polyline.

Problem is mates are lost when trying to use the solidworks animator.  I lose the mates pinning the chain to the path and have to start all over again.

has anyone had this type of problem?  Is it a bug?
Any suggestions?

The Mike Wilson site was my starting point for trying to figure out how to do this.

I have the same mate problems with the Mike Wilson race car track - the mates, car to car; car to track get lost when getting out of animation environment.
