Hot Working of 25CrMo4 Steel with Tellurium Additions

Hot Working of 25CrMo4 Steel with Tellurium Additions

(OP)
Tellurium is added to steels to modify the inclusions and improve machinability.
Does anyone have any experience of hot working such materials (25CrMo4 for example) and experienced cracking problems?

RE: Hot Working of 25CrMo4 Steel with Tellurium Additions

Tellurium improves the machinability of copper and stainless steel. 25CrMo4 is normally machinable.

RE: Hot Working of 25CrMo4 Steel with Tellurium Additions

We regularly hot-head 25CrMo4 bolt heads with no cracking, but I didn't know Tellurium was an element added deliberately. To what spec ?
