Multi-section surface with a point as one section
Multi-section surface with a point as one section
(OP)
Hi,
I need to use V5 GSD to create a surface using a curve and a point. It is like a cone, but more random. In V4, you can use surf1-curve to do this, but I can't find a V5 function. The multi-section surface won't let me pick a point.

First, make sure the guide curves pass through the end point.
Then, select the section curves and ignore the end point. Go to the Relimitation tab and turn off the RELIMIT ON END SECTION option
RE: Multi-section surface with a point as one section
Are you saying that I should make a short line emanating from the point, and use that as one of my definition curves?
And then use the Relimitation tab to make V5 think that I don't want to use the short line?
If so, it didn't work.
I am trying to figure how to post an image in these responses.

here's instructions:

It may not work because I only have one section other than the point, but this should give me ideas for other ways to attack it.

But I was able to make your surface by using a Swept surface. I used an explicit type, 'with two guide curves' using the half-circle for the profile, and the two lines for the guide curves.

Three-sided surfaces are generally a no-no, and this is no exception.
