hiding hole datums

hiding hole datums

How do i hide these annoying descriptions of holes in my assembly?  I am a novice and I have not been able to turn these dumb things off so i can see my model.  These datums are similar to datum planes, datum axes, etc.. but do not turn off when i turn the rest of the datums off.  They are describing holes in the assembly.  (1/4-28 UNF - 2B TAP..etc)  I need to get these words off the screen...
thanks
scott

nevermind, i found it.. you go to Edit-Setup-Notes... and erase notes..
thanks anyways

RE: hiding hole datums

srkangas,

If you do that the notes can not be retreaved.  Have you gone through any basic pro/e training?  If so you will know that all if not most things in pro/e are controlled by config options.  Here is the config option that will control your problem.  If you have not gone through training I would suggest reading through the FAQs, the posts, and websites regarding pro/e.  Because Pro/e is an extremely powerful MCAD tool with the only limitation being the user.

model_note_display
yes, no

Allows users to display all shown model notes. Applies to shown notes, and does not change Show/Erase status of the notes. Can also toggle display of notes through a new environment option called Display Model Notes.

RE: hiding hole datums

Hi Scott,

You set an option for 2001 under Utilities, environment, 3D notes unchecked.  This saves either to your config.pro or config.win file.  This will always hide these notes and you will not have to use your method.  You may want to use those notes in your drawing, so if you erase them then you will have to retype the thread call out.

RE: hiding hole datums

I found this website that could be of some help in getting you up to speed on pro/e.  I would also help if you could tell us what version you're using.  Their are some that are in a continued beta testing loop with Wildfire and some of us are using the last most stable release Pro/e 2001.

RE: hiding hole datums

Tofflemire,

Frotime is a great site.  I've downloaded a lot of basic tutorials from them.  Here is another link I've used a lot.

http://www.synthx.com/tom/sy_tips.htm

Eldon the owner of Synthx has helped me a lot through this website and with some part modeling.  Be warned he is a Pro/e 2001 holdout.

RE: hiding hole datums

Hi Heckler,

I am a ProE 2001 holdout also, but mostly due to the cost to upgrade all users and Intralink.

I am set up to receive the monthly updates of the Synthx tips.  These all always great to receive and view.

Talk to you later...

Thanks again,

Tofflemire
