Federal Pacific Electric Power Transformers

Federal Pacific Electric Power Transformers

Does anyone know what company has taken over the old FPE power transformer business?  I am trying to get current transformer data for a 1983 vintage Federal Pacific/Reliance Electric 69-12.5 kV, 12 MVA power transformer.

RE: Federal Pacific Electric Power Transformers

Did you ask the folk at http://www.federalpacific.com/ ?
They should know who acquired the old power xmfr company, since they are using their name.

This company went several different directions over the years. I can't tell you who took over the power xfrm side of things but I do know that the switchgear stuff was taken over by Schneider Electric. Contact them and I'm sure they will be able to help you themselves or direct you to someone that can.

Best of luck.

RE: Federal Pacific Electric Power Transformers

I am remembering back in late 1990's North American transformer in Milpitas CA were the folks that handled my questions regarding Federal Pacific transformers built in 1970's.

RE: Federal Pacific Electric Power Transformers

Looking back at a Federal Pacific catalog, they became North American in 1987.

I guess Waukesha would be the contact now.

Thanks for all the response.  I found out that Schneider did not take over that part of the business.  North American apparently did and was taken over by Waukesha.  Someone from Waukesha found a file on the transformer and is getting the CT excitation curves for me.
