Use of System Idenitification Method and Hilbert Transform

Use of System Idenitification Method and Hilbert Transform

(OP)
Suppose you model a damped free vibration of a beam in Matlab and then use a Hilbert Transform to fit its "envelope" that shows the decay...how can you get the information about the decay constant and frequency in Matlab?

RE: Use of System Idenitification Method and Hilbert Transform

You can get the decay constant from the slope of the abs() of the hilbert transform.  And you can get the frequency by differentiating its unwrapped angle().
