Conversion Software

Does anybody know if there is a software that will export a SWX file and convert it to a HPGL file. I have only found add-ins for importing HPGL files into SolidWorks.

Thanks,

Scorch

RE: Conversion Software

Try to install an HP plotter driver (maybe any by default in WXP) and then print to file.

I have already tried that, it only gave me the option to save as a PRN. Nice try.

Windows’ print to file always wants to give the file a .prn extension.  As long as the driver is one that generates HPGL, you can let Windows give it the .prn extension and then rename it to .hpgl or whatever extension that you want.  I have done this with postscript files which are generally .ps, but Windows always wants to name .prn.

The key will be finding / configuring a driver to generate the flavor of HPGL that you need.  I imagine that HPGL has become less standard as HP has moved from pen plotters to large format printers.
