Information on CA313 Aluminium

(OP)
Hello,

Just want to check, does anyone know any material properties on a die cast grade CA313 Aluminium. I am new to specifying die cast aluminium, and someone suggested me to use this when designing die cast aluminium casing, I want to know some of its properties, such as its strength, weight and corrosion resistance before specifying it. I already tried to do an internet search, but nothing useful have come up, I also tried matweb, and nothing can be found either, can anyone help?

Cheers

Kaka

RE: Information on CA313 Aluminium

I would approach a die caster and obtain their recommendations on a suitable alloy. Also, data published for aluminum die castings give mechanical values as "typicals" rather than guaranteed minimums, so this complicates the design aspect somewhat. I was told by a die cast consultant to use 80% of the typical tensile as your design tensile.
