I am trying to find a quick way to get the area of many section of a part.

Create planes where you want to find area.  Create a sketch on each plane, and intersect the sketch plane with the part body.  When you pop out of the sketch, use the "fill" surface to make a planar patch.  Then, just analyze the patches.

That's the way that I do it. I don't know if there is a DMU function for this, but I don't seem to have the capability.
