CATIA V4 axis/views

CATIA V4 axis/views

CATIA V4 axis/views

(OP)
Hi all,
When I create a new axis system at a different origin other than axis 1, and with a rotation, and making it current, why is there no change in my views (top, left, right ect.). Do I have to create new views? And if so, how?
Can someone help me please.

RE: CATIA V4 axis/views

Are you using Auxview, or Auxview 2 to create the views?

Did you update the views?

RE: CATIA V4 axis/views

Are you talking about drafting views? or named views?

RE: CATIA V4 axis/views

in order to have the right axis in your view, you need, when you create the front view, to select the axis in the spec tree then the plane/face for the projection.

this 'preselected' axis will be the BLUE axis of your view.

I do not know any way to change a view axis so...

recreate new views, and copy/past texts and dimensions...

have fun

RE: CATIA V4 axis/views

As of R14, you can change the defining plane of the view.  It's not automatic, but it works OK.
