I need to find the proper name of a spacer or wavvy type washer that you put in a socket weld fitting socket prior to welding. The purpose is to create a gap between the end of your pipe and the botton of the socket. The reason is so the weld does not become stressed or weakend because the of the expanding pipe will expand a lot more than the much heavier wall socket weld fitting. I have seen these rings in a publication more than once(can't find publication) but I cannot locate them on Google,Ask Jeeves and Thomas register, because I don't have there proper name I guess.

Thats where I saw it, Newmans, many months ago. I would not have found it again for days if at all. I searched for 2 hours yesterday and was prepared to search all day today to supply these to my customer who needs them right now. I am so glad I joined this site. You just saved me so much valuable time I can't thank you enough. Seriously I am so relieved, now I can go on to the rest of work. THANK YOU!
