Anyone out there have any last minute tips on what to focus on for the ASBOG? I know that Hydro was increased to 41%, but does anyone have any insight as to what types of questions will be added? More general term/concept type questions or actual plug and chug with formula memorization type questions?

I took the test 3 years ago and found the test to weigh heavy on Ch. 6, 7, and 8 of the Geology Study Manual, by Reg Review, Inc.

Ch6 Subsurface Inv.
Ch7 Hydrogeology
Ch 8 Water Quality and G-W Contamination

I am taking the test again next week and am kinda of concentrating my efforts on these items.

You may have this information alreay. Pleae refer to "Examination Emphasis Comparison" (ASBOG2002, Candidate Handbook, Appendix 2).

Field Meghods, Remote Sensing: FG(29.1%)/PG(35%)
Hydrogeology: FG(24.5%)/PG(25%)
Engineering Geology: FG(2.7%)/PG(11.3%)
Structural Geology/Tectonics:FG(9.1%)/PG(2.5%)
Sedimentology/Stratigraphy/Paleontology:FG(10%)/PG(3.8%)
Mineralogy/Petrography/Petrology/Geochemistry:FG(13.6%)/PG(2.5%)
Geomorphology: FG(6.4%)/PG(6.3%)
Petroleum Geology/Mining Geology/Energy Resources:FG(0.9%)/PG(8.8%)
Geophysics/Seismology: FG(3.6%)/PG (5%)

I am also taking the test next year and started studying now.

You may want to look at the newest hand book (Fall 2005) all the percentages have changed; FG,PG
General Geology 35, 32%
Mineralogy, Petrology, petrography- 2, 0%
Sed, Strat, Paleo- 5, 2%
Quaternary, Geomorph, surfical- 3, 2%
Structure, Tectonics, Seis- 5, 3%
Hydro and envi geochem- 35, 41%
Engineering-8, 12%
Econ and Engergy Res.- 3, 6%

Also the number of questions has increased to 120 and 100 with no more alloted time.
