ISO/TRI/DIMETRIC VIEW MACRO

ISO/TRI/DIMETRIC VIEW MACRO

ISO/TRI/DIMETRIC VIEW MACRO

(OP)
Does anyone have a macro that creates multiple trimetric and dimetric views in addition to the "8 Isometric" views?  I'm looking for some alternative dimetric views for my assembly drawing???

Thanks!

RE: ISO/TRI/DIMETRIC VIEW MACRO

How many trimetric, dimetric and isometric views can there be?? I don't know if a macro can be written to do this that I know of. How would SW know what other angles you want to show? You can rotate your model, go to the dwg, then insert model view, then label as View X.

RE: ISO/TRI/DIMETRIC VIEW MACRO

Not a macro, but if your arrow keys on the keyboard are the SW default, you can make it manually.  The standard dimetric view: front view, then left arrow 3 times, down arrow 1 time. If you want the rear dimetric, hit your rear view button, then left 3x's, down once.  Do this for other dimetric views.

smcadman,

What degree of rotation are your arrow keys set to in TOOLS-OPTIONS-SYSTEM OPTIONS-VIEW ROTATION when creating those dimetric views?

RE: ISO/TRI/DIMETRIC VIEW MACRO

There is a macro available at http://webpages.charter.net/mkikstra/SolidWorks.html called IsoViews that creates the isometric views automatically.  You can easily modify this to create your dimetic and trimetric views as well.

RE: ISO/TRI/DIMETRIC VIEW MACRO

View Rotation > Arrow Keys: 15.00deg  By the way, you obviously have to do a "zoom to fit".  Never did try recording it as a macro though.

Yes, I believe another user here had said they had done just that, which is where I got my idea :)

Unfortunately, though, nobody in my department (including myself) knows visual basic.

Guess it's time to learn!
