Does any one know where I can find the shear strength and bearing stregth of 44W steel.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mechanical Properties 44W/300W:
Tensile: 65 to 85 ksi
Yield: 44 ksi min
Elongation: 20% min in 8” 23% min in 2”

Usually, shear strength and bearing strength would be taken as the strength of an object, not of the steel itself.  Anyway, check the different building codes- LRFD, for example- for shear and bearing strength of beams, etc.
