The old Purge function

The old Purge function

The old Purge function

(OP)
I am looking to create the old Purge function in Wildfire2.  I have the instructions on how to add it to top pull down menu in the previous versions of Pro.  My current contracted compaany has it in their tools pull down menu.  If any one knows how to map to this old comand I would appreciate it.

You can create a mapkey to purge your data.

Under Tools-->Mapkeys, create a new mapkey. There is a tab in the Dialog box that says OS Script. Go into that tab and write

purge

as the script.

Save the mapkey to your startup config.pro, and finally, use Tools-->Customize Screen to create the toolbar icon. Mapkeys are way at the bottom of the "Categories" menu. You can add it to the Tools menu by dragging the mapkey into the menu.

When you press this button, it will purge your working directory.

A final caveat: This mapkey will NOT prompt you to purge your folder so make sure that everything is as you want it to be before you get rid of all those old versions. MY purge button is in a Flyout menu, so I have to think about what I am doing before I actually do the purging.

All the best,
-Mark

RE: The old Purge function

ProEDesigner00,

Here is a helpful thread thread554-43275  This topic gets recycled every couple of months.  It seems that Pro/e (Wildfire included) creates the version files (which can be really helpful at times) but PTC in the past few years hasn't made it evident to its user base how to deal with them (espeically new users).  I had mentioned this to the sales rep that sold us the software and couldn't get a straight answer out of him.....
