PLC Data Acquisition Software

(OP)
I am looking for a software package that will gather data from a CLX processor and store it in a multi-dimensional database.  The package must allow easy set up for data to be viewed by production, engineering, maintenence, management and so on.

Bizware is an example of a package, but I am looking for competitive package that will offer the same functionality.

Can anyone recommend anything?

RE: PLC Data Acquisition Software

If you are looking for a turnkey package then an alternative is GE's iHistorian. A less expensive way would be to use RsLinx OEM and read the data into Excel by DDE. Would need some VBA programming on your part.

Thanks djs, I will look into it.

RE: PLC Data Acquisition Software

Emerson have a product called eDB - Enterprise Database - which is a historian developed from their WDPF control system's rather good native historian. Nice product, good data handling and analysis, good connectivity. Price likely to be higher rather than lower.

If money is no object (if only...) Oil Systems PI might be worth a look. PI is pretty much 'the' historian package, but has a market leading price tag.
