Bolier Level Control and Trip

(OP)
I'm thinking of replacing two old "Ronald Trist" level switches on a small sized boiler.

I have been informed that any new level switches must be self checking and "Smart" protocol.
Also, that the low and high alarms may have to go back to a manned control room.

The plant is manned 24/7 and at the moment and a simple "Common" alarm goes to the control room.

Can I simply replace the old level control and level alarm/trip switches with smart replacements?

Any information welcomed.
