Flange modeling

(OP)
What type of plate element would be best to model a flange supported on three sides that has a bearing mounted to it by eight bolt holes. This flange is part of a trough assembly and is welded to the trough on three sides.

RE: Flange modeling

Dear Nolan51,
It is difficult to answer this with such a brief description of the component assembly. Also just as important is the design criteria that you are applying  - ie what do you want the model to tell you (strength, stiffness, heat flow, vibration modes etc). Please send these further details and the subscribers will do our best to answer your question.
