Calculation work

(OP)
Hi Folks

When working in SolidWorks does anyone run into the need to do complex math such as Stress,Fluid Flow,or other Engineering calculations?
Do the results of those equations result in changes to the solid model?
If so how do you do it now?
Is it easy to tie in an Excel Spreadsheet for example?
Does SolidWorks have a Math Modeling tool available that is linked directly?
Lastly is there a 1D/2D/3D tollerance package available that is linked to Solidworks?

RE: Calculation work

Have you had SW/Cosmos training? Have you used the tutorials or help?
Which version are you using?

RE: Calculation work

Yes, their are many third part vendors that have analysis software that integrates into SWx.  I would first check out www.solidworks.com  which will explain the details.

RE: Calculation work

I had tried a couple tol pgks, including sigmundworks, but did not have much luck with them...and support was not very good. This was about 2 years ago. They may have improved now.
