Quickly find text objects of a certain font

Quickly find text objects of a certain font

Quickly find text objects of a certain font

(OP)
Hi all.
I need to locate text objects in an Acad file that are using a specific font , say "genltfont.shx", and modify the font.

Is there a way?

RE: Quickly find text objects of a certain font

Well that could be more than 1 text style.  If you don't have many styles to sort through, type "Style" and modify through the dialogue box.

RE: Quickly find text objects of a certain font

You could just copy RomanS.shx to genltfont.shx.  It will appear and plot as you want but other won't see the change.  Not a good choice except for emergencies.

It is not clear - do you want to modify the font or the text objects?  Two different questions...

Let me clarify my particular situation:

Some of our work was done on AutoCAD Mechanical 2006 instead of using AutoCAD 2006, by mistake, then saved as 2000 format.

When we open these files using AutoCAD 2000i, a window pops up informing us that the font file named genltfont.shx was not found. We then need to press escape, and the drawing seems OK. I do not want my client to have this warning appear, so it would be nice to select whichever text objects have been assigned this font, and then assign them another font.

Thanks in advance.

Hi trainguy,

CarlB's suggestion would be the way to go, change your style to reference something more common like Romans.shx.

I don't know if this will work with your situation, but you may be able to use QSELECT to locate at Mtext in your drawing and either edit it or change properties. Depends on how the text is organized, by style, etc.
