Lost Options Dialog Box

Lost Options Dialog Box

Lost Options Dialog Box

(OP)
I am running AutoCAD 2002.
Just this afternoon, when I try to use the "save as" from the menu the file box doesn't open up.  All I get are the options on the command line.
Please help.  I guess that some setting got messed up but have no idea which one it was.  I am used to looking at the box which shows the last folder that I saved a file in and I want it back.
Thanks in advance,
Carolyn

SET FILEDIA = 1

RE: Lost Options Dialog Box

FILEDIA ?

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.  You are my savior for replying so promptly with the correct answer.  FILEDIA = 1 worked and everything is back to normal. I wonder how this got screwed up to begin with?  I did nothing out of the ordinary.
I would have worried about this all weekend.  Although I figured that the answer was something like this, I could not find the correct command to save my soul.
Is there a web page that lists these various commands for future reference?  I checked my big AutoCAD book but could find nothing in there.
Again, you have saved me a lot of headaches and worry.  Your help was greatly appreciated.

RE: Lost Options Dialog Box

If you have express tools loaded you can go to

Express...Tools...System variable editor
As you scroll down the list of system variables a
description of each is shown.

RE: Lost Options Dialog Box

Probably happened when a macro or LSIP or VBA routine either crashed or was poorly written and did not restore system settings back to the way they were.

I don't have express installed as far as I can tell.  I didn't load the AutoCAD into my computer.  I sent it to the guy who made the computer and he loaded it on for me.  Is it on the main disc or is it a seperate program?
Is there any other way to get this list?

After some searching, I found this web site:
http://www.hyperpics.com/system_variables/index.asp
that has a listing of over 500 system variables.  It doesn't say what each one does but it is a start.  You can also download the information in pdf format from the web site.
