Random FIles opening

Random FIles opening

Random FIles opening

(OP)
When I open this one assembly file,  Another two files open along with it.  Normally a person would just close them an continue, but the files that open along with it are rather large so it takes forever to load the assembly.  Does anyone know what's going on, and how to get this to stop?

Nathan

RE: Random FIles opening

That usually happens when parts have been used to create a mirrored part? If that's the case, I'm not sure if it can be stopped.

RE: Random FIles opening

It may be automatically loading all referenced documents. Try this:

Tools
Options
System Options
External References
Load Referenced Documents

There is a pulldown where you can choose, None, Prompt, All, or Changed Only.  Set it to none and they'll never open, prompt will ask you every time, etc.

RE: Random FIles opening

I've had parts with features made using Join that continue to open referenced files even after those features have been deleted.

RE: Random FIles opening

I've had this happen with parts, but not assemblies.  The files I opened were derived-parts, so the original opened up also.
