Scale changing during importing the file

Scale changing during importing the file

Scale changing during importing the file

(OP)
Hello,

I have a file that was imported from another application to SolidWorks. When I open this file I could double-click on the feature and see the real dimension. But, when I start a new assembly and trying to include this file in, I've got the different dimentions, It looks like there is something wrong with the scale of this file.

Could you recommend me something?

Regards,
Joe.

Now I can see, it was multiplied by 25.4

It is funny, it was Imperial before and still Imperial at my new assembly.

Any advices?

RE: Scale changing during importing the file

maybe part is in inches and assy in millimeters? I have not tried it.

RE: Scale changing during importing the file

SW doesn't scale the actual model at all. It opens it the way it was saved. But like ctopher mentions above you maybe using the wrong unit type.

If you can show that SW is doing this then you need to contact your VAR, because this is something that needs looked at and turned in.
