Titanium corrosion resistance

I am trying to establish the suitability of Titanium Gr 2 and 9
when in service with dilute sulphuric acid 0.015moler with a ph of 1-2 temperature 285 deg C and 80 Bar

RE: Titanium corrosion resistance

You should really discuss this with an expert from one of the titanium producers like Timet, RTI, or Wah Chang.  ASM Handbook Volume 13 shows the following data for boiling sulfuric acid:

1% concentration has corrosion rate of 17.8 mm/year
5% concentration has corrosion rate of 25.4 mm/year

However, this can be dramatically reduced by having more oxygen present, or by adding small amounts of oxidizing substances like CuSO4.  5% concentration of H2SO4 + 0.25% CuSO4 at 95 C has a corrosion rate listed as nil.
