Creating New Drawing SW2003

Creating New Drawing SW2003

Creating New Drawing SW2003

(OP)
Hi,

I have Solid Works 2003 running on win XPpro

When I try to create a new drawing I click new and the new SW document dialog box pops up but the icon for a drawing is not there under the templates or tutorial tabs.

Does someone know where it is or what I might be doing wrong?

Well maybe since it can be done GBor you could help me:)

RE: Creating New Drawing SW2003

Try looking in Tools>Options>File Locations and pointing to C:/Program Files/SolidWorks/data/templates

I think that is the default location.

RE: Creating New Drawing SW2003

Had this problem on an old version of SW that was an unregistered copy... Seems that they would allow you to model parts and assy's but lock you out of drawings... make sure you intered the reg code correctly...

RE: Creating New Drawing SW2003

The standard part, assy & drawing templates can be found at C:/Program Files/SolidWorks/data/templates

The standard tutorial templates can be found at C:/Program Files/SolidWorks/lang/english/Tutorial

The Tools > Options > File Locations lists all the standard file paths, but if you have customized any templates, (or intend to) you should save them in a separate folder (which should not be in the SW install directory) and use the File Locations dialogue box, to direct SW to them. If you don't they will get overwritten when you re-install a new version of SW.
