programming standards
programming standards
(OP)
I have been programming PLC's for many years.
Lately our customers requested a written standard for program development.
Does anyone have a generic document I could start out with.
Or is there any place I can get more information about
programming standards.
Our main controllers are AB SLC , Omron c-series.

RE: programming standards
However, this may not be what you were looking for as it's about quality systems for software specification, design, verification, validation and traceability. If you're looking for something a little more technical (standard software and data structures), the PLC manufacturers (eg Rockwell Automation) may be able to give you some advice.
Does anyone know if ISO 1131-1 gives any application guidance?
RE: programming standards
However there is thumbrule and advice from manufactureres of PLC that PLC control alone should not be used for safety equipments.like Extremelimit switches for lifts, overhead cranes etc.
