electrostatic precipitators
electrostatic precipitators
(OP)
I have been tasked with developing a
"process and equipment based report on (electrostatic) precipitator for metrics"
Basically, I have to pick some key process parameters of fluidized catalytic cracking and relate thier effect on opacity. Any suggestions?

RE: electrostatic precipitators
The above part of your question loses me. What do you mean by "for metrics"?? That doesn't make sense to me.
The catalyst regenerator in a fluid catalytic cracker basically simply burns carbon off of the spent catalyst and then recycles the catalyst for reuse in the catalytic cracking reactor. The resultant flue gas from the regenerator contains catalyst fines and perhaps some "soot" as well as other pollutants. After cooling the flue gas, many refineries do route the flue gas through an electrostatic precipitator to recover the catalyst fines and perhaps other particulates that were in the flue gas.
