Pipe work and frames within Atex areas

(OP)
Hi all

I need some help with pipework and frames within Atex areas.  These are both chemical dosing units with pumps and pipework mounted on frames/ enclosures

1) can Plastics be used within a zone 2 environment, I assume there is an issue due to static???

2)If for example the pipework was steel (in a zone 1)would it require greater earth bonding than normal

The electrics for the unit appear easy (we just use ATEX approved materials) right??

The 2 units I am on with will be type approved by others but obviously I need to get it right the first time round

Many thanks in advance

If anyone has a contact for a firm that could advise an ATEX virgin like myself it would be a great help

regards
Gareth
