Matching Assy instance name to the catpart name.

(OP)
Within our aircraft assy's we have subproducts that contain fasteners. During the evolution of the design, these fasteners are often replaced by others. The problem is that the Fastener Product instance name stays the same as the old original fastener. There is a report that prints out this name rather than the current one. Is there a way to make these match the current part name without renaming each with properties? It would be nice to have them all consistant. There may be hundreds of fasteners.
