zinc anode testing

(OP)
Hi
Please i would like to know how to test the zinc anode priore to be installed to protect the bottom plate of an above ground storage tank.

thank you in advance

RE: zinc anode testing

Depending on the size of the anode, put it with a silver/silver chloride reference cell in a seawater / 3% NaCl solution bath. Connect the anode to the negative terminal of a multimeter, and the reference cell to the positive. You should get readings between -980mV to -1050mV.
