Sheet metal brake design
Sheet metal brake design
(OP)
I having been toying around with sheetmetal and box tube steel as a hobby. Would like to bend sheet metal precisely for some of the projects that I want to do and realize that a sheet metal brake is the best way to do so. Does anyone have any pictures of brakes or sites that I can visit to get any ideas to design a brake. Is it worth it? Should I just buy one? Doesn't seem that complex of a machine.
Thanks in advance, Chad

This forum is not my area of expertise, but I have a url that might help you. I have always been one of those folks that would rather spend $100 to learn to make a $5 part than go and buy it. Nobody ever accused me of being overly smart!!!
Try this site http://www.tptools.com
You can also pick up their catalog through Hemmings, page 57 for sheet metal brakes. Really inexpensive tools.
