17-4 PH ROHS compliant?

17-4 PH ROHS compliant?

(OP)
My company is working towards becoming ROHS compliant. We build load cells and pressure transducers as a result of that, most of our product is made from 17-4 PH (good spring properties).

Is 17-4 PH compliant with ROHS standards. I guess the possible issue would be the Chromium content of the 17-4.

RE: 17-4 PH ROHS compliant?

When chromium is present as a metal (chromium plating, alloying addition to steel or nickel, etc.), there is no problem with ROHS.  It is only when it is present as an ion (hexavalent form) that it is not ROHS compliant.
