sorry this is the 3rd time I've asked this question
but i need to know how to weld austenitic ss to A-36 44W

Not sure what an A36 44W is?  If it is a normal carbon manganese steel welded to a 304/316 type austenitic, then you will need an over-alloyed consumable to allow for dilution, such as  309.  

Stainless steel is a poor conductor of heat, therefore less amps is normally required.  Protection of the root either by material or gas backing is recommended, unless the process contains a flux (such as Stick Welding)

There is a good article on the welding metallurgy of Austenitic stainless steel in www.gowelding.com ; Another site you may find useful is the 'WELD POOL'  not sure of its address but there is a link to it form gowelding..

Another source of good advice is your consumable supply/manufacturer.
