MYSQL - Does anyone use it?

MYSQL - Does anyone use it?

MYSQL - Does anyone use it?

(OP)
I work for a Custom Automation Machine Builder.

We are currently using Acces 97 as our Db. YES ITS TRUE haha.

Its only a matter of time before it explodes so im looking into other alternatives.

www.mysql.com seems to be the best choice thus far. The fact that its free is pretty big 2 haha.

Its open source.  We use this for all Job/Assemblies/Part/Material tracking Routings, etc etc.

Does anyone know if this is a good Db to use?  Does anyone else use this db simliarly? or if u use a dif db similarly please let me know what u use.

Thanks

RE: MYSQL - Does anyone use it?

My advice is to use one of these two sql engines which are really very good, complient with ANSI SQL 92 and OPEN (or free as like it) even for commercial applications:

FIREBIRD - www.firebirdsql.com
POSTGRES - www.postgresql.org

RE: MYSQL - Does anyone use it?

I've happily used mySQL for some time. It seems to be stable, reliable and fast. Be aware of the difference between the versions:

RE: MYSQL - Does anyone use it?

I've some experience with mySQL and would have no objections to using it again.

Good Luck
